Quarterly retained oversight
Year-end is a poor moment to meet the accounts for the first time. Quarterly retained oversight produces a shorter visual folio after each quarter’s management accounts, using the same page order as the annual briefing so the year can be compared with itself.
The retainer covers one folio a quarter, a telephone hour with the finance director after each pack, and first call on our calendar for the annual sitting. It does not cover restatements, investigations, or extra entities added mid-year — those are quoted separately. Either party may end the retainer after a quarter, in writing, before the next draft is sent.
This engagement suits boards that already know they will need the annual briefing and would rather not discover the year’s shape in the last fortnight.
